The most bizarre for me is MK Dons so far away in comparison to many but still local.

Maybe a for example 50 mile radius should be considered as a derby match zone instead, it would certainly make more sense. [Post edited 10 Nov 2021 15:31]

Sorry but what the feck are you talking about!? Ipswich v MK is about as much of a derby as Liverpool versus Lincoln would be. i.e. it's not! Milton Keynes is NOT in East Anglia!

Norwich are playing well above us, so that rivalry is pretty dull right now. A rivalry is born through history, I don't mind if we start new rivalries, but due to my age and the games I've watched, Norwich will always be the main rival in my eyes... If people want to artificially create rivalries to make football entertaining, then fine, but expect a lot of push back. My Norwich fan friends still see us as there main rival, I really enjoy, even though Ipswich are at the end of a lot of their jokes... the rivalry is there for me still. |
We created rivalries with Bolton and then Sheffield United (the Norwich of the North we called them for a while). I also think we had some rivalry with West Ham for a while too. But, as you say, the true derby is always nodge. It is like Forest's derby is with Derby not Notts County and nodge's is with us and not Peterborough, Kings Lynn or Lowestoft.
