Even Harry Houdini wouldn't get this lot promoted this season. We need to appoint for the long term now and accept that whoever comes in may need a season or two to get it right. Otherwise we're going to be in a state of purgatory for years to come.

This post could be from exactly the same time last season...

Except we all now know that no manager is going to come here and be given two seasons to build his squad and get it right, by owners or fans... despite how obvious it is that it is likely to take that.
