A deflating performance yesterday, with the Ipswich disease of 5,6,7 players putting in sub 5/10 performances on a big occasion.
I thought Sheff Weds could have been beaten yesterday, but Town beat themselves with a lacklustre and unadventurous performance, strewn with errors.
But we have been improving, there were a lot of changes in the team, and Morsy suspension is a massive blow to our team. Don’t get too low, and don’t get too high! Albeit Wimbledon was also not a great performance.
So do you think we still have a chance of sneaking into the play offs??
Win the next three, including STEPPING UP for the MKDons away mega clash… and we’ll be believing again. But I don’t fancy our chances given their form, style and our history of wilting on the big game. But Morsy returning will be big.
4 correct predictions to date…. And some of your draws are pessimistic
Post of the day
Now wins against Gills and Donny and we’ll be back on track and you will be crowned board soothsayer
I tried to be as realistic as possible which is why I thought Bolton and Sheff Weds would end in defeat and some of those draws could/should become wins.
However we are likely not to win a couple of games that we are expected to and with other results going against us this week we probably need to win at least one of MK and Oxford games now.
But win at least 4 of the 6 Feb games, which looks doable we will still be in the running.
Saturday’s display, for me, confirmed it. There’s been too many of these type of performances. I appreciate some will say, yes but we were missing Morsy and Evans in CM, but even when we’ve had them playing we still delivered performances like that one - Accrington and Bolton away spring to mind more recently. Personally, we just aren’t collectively resilient enough especially away from home, when we play poorly it’s not often we get anything from games where sides like Rotherham and Wigan can do that. We might win and ‘should’ win the next couple of league games, but I’d be really surprised if we get anything from the MK Dons and then we’re back to square one again. What we excel at is being consistently inconsistent and that’s not good enough in any level of football if you have promotion ambitions. It’s another year of L1 football next season, just hope we’ve learnt from our mistakes this campaign?!

Every team is going to produce some performances like that one though? We don't need to be flawless to get to 6th, we need to win 2/3rds of our games, which we've been doing since McKenna showed up.
