Was talking to a member of the coaching staff of a recent opponent last night… 07:41 - Feb 16 with 7662 viewsITFC_Forever

They have been very impressed by us recently and noted that now we have some tactical structure to go with the quality we have, it’s no surprise therefore our form has improved.

He was convinced we will make the POs, no problem.

Getting into the POs is still a long shot. We need the kind of form that means no team currently below us will be an issue. We also need to finish above 3 of the teams currently above us. Plymouth and Oxford look the most likely targets, plus then one of Sheff Wed and Wycombe. It would be useful if Sheffield Wed were to drop points home to Accrington tonight...

You can't drink a dozen pints every day and have a clear enough head to work the next day at full capacity.

Hear McKenna on the interview - go home and spend a couple of hours with kids etc then straight back into analysing games etc.

This new breed are ultra professional, it's very different now - saw a stat earlier that 8 of the 20 PL managers either didn't have any playing career of note or had retired before they were 30.

Probably told you before about when i spoke with PC in the Greyhound. Came across as a real footballing man, a good laugh, and held his audience well.

Thinking back on that since, as we tried talking about Ipswich/Suffolk, saying things he should do with the family, it went back to football, and bad mouthing those players at the clubs..... which then, yeah i fully agreed with, but he shouldnt have been feeding that to a supporter.

load of chesterfield boys at the england games were singing his praises saying he'd got to the pub first after a derby day win, which yeah would be a laugh..... but is that what i want in a manager? would i rather a manager that would go home after a derby win and analyse the sht out of the game, to find faults to put right? absolutely.

We’ll be good again... one day

He comes across as the kind of bloke who wears his heart on his sleeve. Discretion doesn’t appear to be high on his list of strengths though.

There is nothing to be gained and plenty to lose in bad mouthing people to strangers and within an organisation too. Not least trust. It’s amazing how quickly word gets around.
