Anyone see the maps of nuc impacts in London? on 12:46 - Feb 23 by jeera | Not sure if you're joking or not. But just in case my response was purely in jest suggesting that only Haverhill would be bombed in that way whilst the rest of the nation would be worth saving. He would know that. And you would know, if you're old enough, that some of those films were made with a deliberate sense of humour to make them more appealing to kids: the swimming pool one, old boy on bike who managed to live to an old age without wearing lycra. Then there was the more sinister type like the one with the lake. The dark water and the deep voice over. That was enough to make any kid think twice about playing next to deep water. I have posted on here several times over the years complaining that public info films no longer exist, especially after two children were rescued only last year/year before after thinking it safe to walk on a frozen part of the River Trent. So no, definitely not ungrateful in the slightest. Context my friend, as always, is everything. |
They still have a scarey one late night on BBC Northern Ireland. Its a warning about late night chip pan fires. It roughly advises people that if they come home from the pub slaughtered, not to put the chipper on in case you pass out on the sofa and burn the house down. I now always buy a kebab on the way home for health and safety reasons | |
