He's not made many mistakes until today - possibly going from a couple of games in the first half of the season to playing every week is catching up with him.
Penney benefiting hugely from the 'longer he's out, the better he is' mind trick fans play on themselves. He's not the answer as he can't block a cross or win a header to save his life and is similarly ineffectual going forwards.
Would be at a sacrifice to defensive security down that side but maybe KVY comes in to add an attacking option and give Thompson a break. |  |

He is better defensively, However, he has the same problem - he allows time for crosses and he also isn't that great passing the ball. When he is in attack mode, he does pop some good balls into the box, but I don't know if he's told to sit back or if it's his choice but he just doesn't when getting the ball, push forward or even overlap to receive a ball |  |

Very disappointing recruitment ... in all the games I've seen Thompson play he never ever takes on his man ...
Just not good enough for a Premier League loanee dropping down to the third tier to be so timid going forward and completely pointless given KM's preference for wing backs.
