Classic bullying behaviour.
Most of the people who have to report to Putin must *really* hate him.
Hate him, but fear him and fear the consequences of no longer having his protection. Especially as they have doubtless been carefully tied into a lot of bad stuff (such as this taking shared "responsibility" for the attack on Ukraine).
Nobody wants to end up like Lavrentiy Beria when this is all over.
