I would suggest the gentleman check his emails for confirmation.
Sometimes when I use Paypal (for example) the little annoying circle will go around and around with a message assuring me to wait just a bit longer as things are happening.

They report that last night was quiet and so they enjoyed undisturbed sleep.
They have eschewed living in an underground shelter as the air quality was atrocious and was making them ill, so they are taking their chances in their apartment.
They are helping elderly neighbours who are really struggling, stuff like cooking and providing food.
