What is everyone's opinion here.
He's quite a frustrating watch. Reminds me of Andre Dozzell with the number of freekicks he gives away near our box and misplaced passes. But he then can turn the tempo up with a very quick change of direction and directive passing and some of his hard hitting longer range passing does get us up the pitch.
I think I'd keep him and let Caroll go. I don't see Bakinson and Morsy as a weekly partnership though as they are very similar in certain aspects of their play.

Depends on the fee. I think we could do better.
He's a decent league 1 midfielder who's developed a pretty good partnership with morsy. Back up to Evans though for me and for a fee that may not be the right thing to do.
Agree hes a frustrating watch as at times he can dominate the game but he also has periods in games where his passes lose tempo (seems to sell a centre back short at least once a game) and he loses it in dangerous areas etc. |  | | |

I like him but at best he should be our second reserve next season behind Morsy, Evans and another new signing who will battle with Evans for the second starting spot and perhaps give us a different dynamic. How much will we be willing to spend on a second reserve? | |

I would keep him. He did a lot well last night. Quite a few interceptions and tackles, plus having him in the holding position allows Morsy to push further forward.
Still has a bit to learn and you are right with what you mention about FK's he gives away. But I honestly thought he had a good game.
Morsy, Evans, Bakinson, +1 and El Miz fighting it out for the 2 CM spots. However I wouldn't mind if we didn't strengthen here. More urgent issues to address |

I am sure this is something that the strength and conditioning people could work on. And to be honest, Evans isn't that strong in the tackle either, from recollection. [Post edited 21 Apr 2022 12:45]
