A friend of mine was in New York recently 17:24 - Jun 13 with 1235 views

and, as an avid fan of vintage vinyl records, he visited on of the city's most famed dealers in rare records.

He asked, 'Have you anything really unusual and rare?'

The record dealer thought or a moment, and then fetched a well-worn record sleeve. 'How about this?, he said.

My friend looked at the sleeve, which was for an LP called The Sound of the Wasp. 'Can I have a listen?', he enquired.

The dealer put the disc on his Linn Sondek turntable, and fired up the amp. A cacophony of buzzing filled the shop.

After a few moments my friend said, 'Excuse me, but I know my insects, and there's no way that the sound of the wasp.'

The dealer took the record from the turntable, carefully examined the label, looked at the sleeve, and then studied the label again.

'I'm sorry sir,' he said, 'that was the bee side'.
