Unfortunate, but amusing use of language

You're flying with the wrong airlines.

Maybe I should try Lufthandsir?

Just make sure you turn off bluetooth first ...

(oblique reference to last night's episode of the excellent new BBC1 prime time drama 'Sherwood').

I'm not going to get that reference as I rarely watch TV these days (not sure why). The last thing I saw on the Beeb had some mad European jumping into an ice cold lake - he seemed a bit nuts.

The reference was re a middle-aged techno-phobe being shown by his new daughter-in-law how to play any music on the net through shared house loudspeakers, by switching on his phone's bluetooth.

Which led to her being woken in the wee small hours by her f-i-l moanily w*nking off to porn, distributed at mega decibels throughout their house.

The serial is based on real events decades after the miners strike in 1984. Strike breakers were targeted by someone firing a bow & arrow, managing to kill at least one.

Even for people who cheer this 'policy' how can spending a fortune chartering a plane for a handful of people be justified in the first place?

I read somewhere £500,000. That can't be right surely?

That is the figure being quoted.

However, given the numbers openly stating that this would not work, given the legality there has to be thought that this was nothing more than Johnson looking to play the victim, again ... as with the NI protocol and the rail strike.

Stuff that always over-excites the righties, and serves as a convenient distraction

Otherwise, some might wonder how many immigration staff could be employed processing claims, for that figure

And presumably that’s under a government contract and will be paid irrespective of whether it takes off.

The company is Spanish owned apparently, and sounds a bit flight by night. It seems they specialise in these morally reprehensible flights with a very small fleet of ageing jumbos. Standard carriers wouldn’t touch this presumably (I’m presuming a lot here, but it’s no difficult to imagine how this is organised).
