Agreed, regardless of the latest disgrace to come out of the US, owners of clubs are private individuals with their own thoughts. That's not to say an individual owner won't have some pretty distasteful views, but you can't assume they do just because they are American. Newcastle are directly owned by the Saudi government who make little secret of what they think and do. |  |

Yes, there are many commenting on this issue who are not legal scholars it's fair to say. Our owners are from Arizona where I believe there still exist more liberal abortion laws than in the UK. The effect of the Dobbs ruling is that elected state legislatures are not constrained by the constitution and can make their own abortion laws.
Some states will make horrifically restrictive laws, and that is sad, and abhorrent in the view of many (including myself). However, not all states will do so. Arizona still allows elective abortions upto 24 weeks. Strictly speaking, UK law does not. (I Appreciate in practice the law in the UK is applied similarly.) A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, Twitter is a dangerous thing, but then certain American state legislatures are a far more dangerous thing... |  | | |

They are essentially saying a club run by a random Austrian businessman is morally as bad as the one being run by Hitler himself, without any consideration for what said businessman says or does. |  | | |

I think that would be the case in some countries, as places like Russia, China, presumably north Korea, you are totally beholden to the Govt and if you are a mega rich person in that country you are tacitly supportive of the Govt and what they do

I'm not sure this is quite correct. The current law in Arizona is really quite murky with a range of pre and post Roe rulings in place. Overall effect seems to be that Planned Parenthood have stopped offering abortions in the state for now. | |
