The Guardian love to paint a gloomy "worst case scenario" picture of everything. Be it climate change, war in ukraine, Brexit, whatever. Well that's in between articles about holidaying in Provence and some woman's personal account of dating during her menopause.

I think you're confusing a worst case scenario, with actual, real journalism. They aren't painting anything, this is happening and all they are doing is reporting on it, and reporting on it well, in great detail.
