Really grim reading this and utterly incomprehensible. Should we deport them to Poland to serve their time there. I would imagine Polish prisons are a lot tougher than ours.

Just looking at the detail of the case, in one incident he hit that poor kid over 100 times even had to stop to wipe sweat from his head and then started hitting thd kid again.

Lock him up but don't give them any protection and then he can experience being hit continously for 100 times

Kid beaten to a pulp as the woman ate her breakfast. Defies belief that people can be so evil. There’s a photo of the bloke further down the page. Proper gym rat. No doubt a pencil dick inadequate raged up on steroids.

But how can there be a worse case than child cruelty and murder.

Wait to October there’s one coming to trial then for two child murders, one murder of an adult and rape and Murder of a child ( think it’s his own child too ). Not sure what his defence will be but currently pleading not guilty but IF found guilty that will I’d imagine be a whole life sentence or if not 40-50 year minimum.

Child social workers are currently at a premium, we’re in the middle of adopting a 5 year old and found that our process has been stalling as the area were adopting from just doesn’t have enough social workers to go round.

Blimey, you got 21 downvotes for that? Harsh.

But as you well know, death penalties would ultimately cost the tax payer more than the prison sentence. Not to mention historical miscarriages of justice.

Trouble is none of this pseudo macho stuff brings the innocent child back.

Where the hell were the authorities [yet] again?

How can this level of prolonged abuse go on undetected in the first place?

Massive cuts to social services since 2010.

We all want tax cuts instead of child protection officers apparently.

Although I agree with every word you've said I was thinking wider, including his school.

And for that matter other people he came in contact with who could have alerted someone in authority.

It just seems such a huge thing to miss.

It depends how obvious it is within school. He was described as a quiet lad. Maybe some physical signs were seen. Did the member of staff who noticed them pass them on or not? When you see the signs you do make a point of passing them on but when you are dealing with 90+ different students each day it is easy to miss things too (especially if the child is not keen to make them obvious), Then the funding issue is within schools too. We have very over-worked pastoral staff. Some of these are teaching and some non-teaching. When they get referrals for around 10-25% of the students how do they make the right call on one who "is quiet and seems a bit withdrawn"? A key factor is a change in behaviour but maybe the lad was always the same because the abuse started as soon as he was here.

The signs will have been hardly any clearer than those for around 10-25% of the school population - nearly all of whom will not end up this way at all.

25 now, and ditto. Mind-numbingly stupid suggestion.

Anyway, back on topic, what a hard listen to what that poor kid went through. Awful stuff. Unimaginable really.

Well it’s either that or agreeing with your points.
