Leicester need to sell before they can buy 14:09 - Aug 11 with 4171 viewsJ2BLUE

£2m relatively peanuts to a Prem club but might be tempting to cash in to put towards a token signing to placate the fan base.

Or do they loan him to the Championship, hope he smashes in 20 goals and then cash in next summer for £10m+?

Truly impaired.

Lestoh fan here.

Most of what's written in the thread is true. We have been clobbered by the new FFP rules which is mostly designed to keep any clubs aspiring to break the glass ceiling in their place.

We signed some duffers last season and are now paying for it.

It is also true that Rodgers is throwing his toys out the pram because he's not being backed, well it's his fault for wasting a lot of money last summer.

How it relates to you and Hirst I don't know but I would imagine we are keener to hold onto young prospects like Hirst now then we would be if we had more cash in the coffers.

We all know how this goes…

Immense pressure heaped on the shoulders of this new striker we’ve been wanting all summer…. You can guess the rest

First player to take the pressure and use it to drive himself into a top scoring 30 goal season and take town to the promise land of the championship.

Step up Andy Caroll.

a niche perspective

Got to say after supporting Hirst at pompey that he is not the answer. He isn't blessed with pace, he isn't bad though. He isn't a great link up player and the first half of the season showed exactly what he did at Rotherham and Donny, nothing.
DC's persistence and the pompey crowd support gave him confidence and he started to score goals. Headers and instinctive goals. His one on one was and is average at best.
He needs championship football to see if he has progressed. If he comes back to league 1 he will need time and support to get that confidence up because a £2m price tag is alot of money for an average to above average league 1 striker.
I've always liked him. He tries hard and doesn't stop running, defending from the front.
Your style of football may also have influence too. There are so many variables.
Would I have him back at fratton? Yes but would he be first choice over Bishop? After what I've seen so far , no. We paid £500k for Bishop and that speaks volumes on the transfer potential.
