Had a physical recently and was informed I needed to shed a few lbs to get back in non fast b*stard BMI range post pandemic.

I like how we’ve from the most important meal of the day to don’t eat for most of the day to lose weight.

Anyway, I’ve been doing this the last 6 weeks and dropped about 15-20lbs. I’m not really bothered about breakfast unless it’s on holiday or the weekends anyway. So it’s just been water and coffee until about 2pm and not eating late, basically every work day but don’t bother with it in weekends.

Seems to work a treat, the question is, is it healthy? Probably not but then a load of carbs first thing in the morning probably isn’t either. Carrying less fat is obviously healthier so I’m just going to keep doing it I think, along with working out most evenings if I get a chance.

For the most part, I haven't eaten breakfast for 10 years, out of choice rather than circumstance or philosophy. I'll sometimes do brunch. But most of the time it is lunch around 12-2. I've had optional blood tests, and nothing bad came up, aside from a recommendation to eat fish a bit more frequently. My weight is healthy, I never feel short on energy.

I'm also out of sync with stones. But I don't know pounds either. More used to kg. Looking it up, that's 8kg in 6 weeks, which is significant. Well done.

I know anecdotal evidence isn't the best. The classic smoking for 40 year story. But it hasn't been an issue for me so far.

You can eat as much as you want if you do the requisite amount of exercise. So the correct answer is to eat a healthy diet and do a bit of exercise - rather than eat too much and not do enough exercise.

The entire England rugby team are obese as measured by Jobbing GPs armed with their BMI charts - there’s no such thing as an average

A top tip is to cycle to the gym - then turn around and cycle home. It’s cheaper, good exercise and you won’t catch covid.

Nope. Diet is more important in many ways. You can’t eat as much as you want. If you ate fast food for every meal you’d be ridiculously unhealthy. Also if you’re that worried about catching Covid you can definitely catch it in the gym lol

personally, the way to lose weight, properly, will always be small healthy meals frequently, and exercise

I’ve been easing into IF recently and this thread inspired/reminded me to get my @rse out and actually do the exercise part for once so I’m not long back from a run and just eaten my first meal of the day. Thanks for the reminder all!

Exercise is the best medicine for brain, while keeping you physically fit and healthy. That’s a win win. Just had my morning run grabbed a coffee and settling in for the footy.

No doubt. I used to commute by bike, 45mins each way 5 days a week, never been happier or healthier. Big calves too
