For those that like this kind of spurious thing!

There were a couple of defensive frailties that came from nowhere against Barnsley. I’m expecting us to put that right in the weeks ahead.

From what we’ve seen from us and the opposition this season we’ve got enough about us to go unbeaten through Sept.

Accrington Stanley (a) - 3points
Cambridge Utd (h) - 3points
Bristol Rovers (h) - 3points
Sheffield Wednesday (a) - 1point
Plymouth (a) - 1point

5 games, 11 points forecast

Cambridge Utd (h) -

Sheffield Wednesday (a) -
Plymouth (a) -

8-10 points is my feeling

We’ll be good again... one day

As is suggested in another thread, aim for 15 points. Why not?

Realistically 10 or more would be great and very possible, especially as we have three of those in the bank.

One thing hugely in our favour is the defence. Just over a goal every other game this season and plenty of matches last season post-KM without conceding. Defence is very much the key to McKenna’s team.

Obviously we are soon to face more potent attacks, but that may just suit us at the other end of the pitch.

Agreed,

I have us for 11 which would be a tidy return from the fixtures.

Defence has been a rock, and we will concede goals as teams pick up form and we play form sides if you look out over next 5 games rather than Sept only.

ITFC going along nicely during games in Sept.

Forecast is on track, with exception of missing the Cambs game due to postponement.

Currently 7 points from 3 games.

A draw or better at Plymouth would leave us unbeaten and going strong over Aug and Sept months.

Keeping finding ways to score goals, keep them out, win games and accumulate points.

October is a big month with 21 points at stake and matches against Portsmouth, Lincoln and Derby at home. We will be more than 1/3 of the way through the season by the end of that month. Still a long way to go. Need to keep up our excellent form for a lot longer.

COYB!

Got a feeling we’ll feel our first defeat this month sadly. I’ll go with the below although not sure on the Andy Holt derby… we could come unstuck there again.

Accrington Stanley (a) - 1-0 win (+3)
Cambridge Utd (h) - 3-1 win (+3)
Bristol Rovers (h) - 2-0 win (+3)
Sheffield Wednesday (a) - 0-2 loss (0)
Plymouth (a) - 1-1 draw (+1)

Not unrealistic, and would keep us on and above the 2PPG average.

Take off the Cambridge rearranged game and you are there on points. Swap the last 2 results!

Sept hasn’t quite ended how hoped, form has dipped a little, games slipping from leading positions but 2 hard games out of the way.

I’m going to say between 8 and 10 points.

7 in total, from a game less, so had we avoided defeat in the Cambridge game if it had happened, I’d have been bang on.

Still right up there, but need to shake this habit we’ve developed of throwing leads away. And signing a decent striker would have helped.
