Only ever been to one day's test cricket in the UK - this one. Andy Caddick had been rubbish and they decided to switch ends. I opted to leave for the car - got to the car and realised I might have been better off staying
Balderson just taken a hat-trick. Could be a points deduction as well as defeat for Essex.
Just got back, glad I only had tickets for the first 2 days! Apart from staying low I didn't see many demons in the pitch TBH, it was overcast for both days, floodlights on from the start today. It was swinging a lot, but you would expect that this late in the season.
Some really brainless batting, only Chef showed any real application. The required rate was 0.2 runs an over with 2 1/2 days left, even it was a bowler's pitch 98 should have been gettable.
Essex batting has been shocking this year, lowest batting points in the division. Our excellent bowling attack has papered over a lot of cracks. Need a top gun overseas batter along the lines of a Marnus or Pujara for next year.

I was there on that day also. Wanted to see Brian Lara bat, he didn’t last long. Gough & Caddick were a good partnership. Two day Test!
