Just got a text saying im eligible for one. Not sure about getting further vaccinations. Is Covid still dangerous? I had it in July and wasnt that ill. But then that could be thanks to the 2 vaccinations I had already had.

It's a conspiracy that unfortunately gained some traction a few months ago on the basis that the AZ vaccine uses a modified chimp adenovirus as a vector to deliver the covid vaccine into cells.
It's also worth pointing out that Monkeypox doesn't actually have anything to do with monkeys. It was only given that name because it was first discovered in monkeys in a lab but they aren't the original carriers or vector, it's actually a rodent pox found in rats.

I had four in less than a year 3 pfizer and the last moderna being june (For context I'm not in the Uk and the seasons are opposite)
I'm 50 and my own health issues have not been taken into account for the vaccinations,it's been the government roll out and corresponding take up or lack of in more recent times that have led the timings and quantity. [Post edited 22 Sep 2022 12:55]

Yeah I noticed in the leaflet with my first jab it contained "a modified chimp adenovirus" which meant nothing to me at the time and I joked that I was now half chimp. But in reality there's no actual chimp in there, even if Monkeypox had anything to do with it (which, as you rightly point out) it doesn't.

We have decided we won't be getting them this time around. Had omicron a few weeks back and it wasn't too bad. Not sure the new vaccine would offer more protection now than existing antibodies having had it. |  |
