Portsmouth deserved nothing. 17:08 - Oct 1 with 2031 views | Mullet | The idea they were rivals was being stretched a bit before the game. In terms of the league table sure, but some were comparing them to the mummunchers. After about 15 mins it seemed hard to believe they were even in the same league as us. Narrow, deep, tight, they seemed to come to FPR like one of the non-league teams done good that we face every couple of months of the season. The fact we weren't out of sight was so frustrating, but when they got their penalty from a really bad lapse it was obvious. Feels like our CBs are alternating them at the minute doesn't it? Fridge by contrast was excellent for much of the game today. I still can't work out how he gave their second one, it was so soft you'd snuggle it in these coming months of having your heating off. I thought the way we kept going was the real seed change this week. Resilience and the bringing on of Ball to change shape seemed to be McKenna taking his queues from lots of fans. The work of Edwards and the for the third was so sweet. Even Pompey stopped thinking it was a penalty, so either the ref was brilliant there or so bad we profited from it. Chuffed for Ladapo too, first touch and he flies into the game with a goal and seemed more like the player we want. Piggott on the other hand must struggle to get in that side as their strikers are the best thing going for them beyond the odd moment of class from Morrell and wily filthery from Raggett. I don't think I appreciated just how cynical and ugly Cowley ball is, even after Lincoln etc. How Dale didn't go for persistent fouling and leaving his foot in is another of League One's mysteries, and he wasn't the only one. Really enjoyed that after so much anxiety building in the last two games. Think the result massively flatters the away team and while they ruined our dominance in the second half, you love seeing teams like that come undone despite having so many moments of fortune all over the pitch.

Portsmouth deserved nothing. on 17:21 - Oct 1 with 1837 views | BigCommon | You're right, they deserved nothing. Agree on the second penalty, looked a really soft one. And again, the 3-2 scorleine doesn't really tell the story... They created nothing, were gifted two penalties . And Cowleyball, resembled hoofball and hope. Having said that. And it keeps being said, but we really need to put sides to bed, when we're so dominant at times. Flying start, with just the one goal to show for it. We go 2-0 up during that first 20 minutes, and it could of ended up a cricket score. Pompey looked so bad.. Great result though. And looking at other scores today, definitely not a day to be dropping points.. Two winnable games up next. Could be 9 points in 8 days? And life's rosy again.

Thought when we hit the post and the corners where the ball pinged off legs or dropped short early on were the sort of chances we'd rue at one point. TJJ did really well at times but looked naieve too giving away free kicks instead of winning them. Don't think there will be many beatings at this level because teams are so negative generally. You could see their mentality change throughout the game when they were being dryhumped from every direction by our passing.

Thought Ronan was well out of control of the ball and went to ground under little. We had better shouts today.

I can't help but wonder if the only thing keeping Chaplin on his feet was being in front of the Portsmouth fans.

Because other than Plymouth they haven’t played anyone decent at all until yesterday
