I know they have cut down on these in the past but seems ridiculous now.
Mrs itfcjoe went for a run in Kesgrave last night, just after 5pm when pitch black only streetlights on one side of the main road on, none on any side roads - she ended up re-routing to come back early as both dangerous and hard to run in those conditions.
Surely you need lights on until later into the evening when people have got back from 9-5 jobs and even schoolkids have got home from after school clubs.
I remember when they started switching them off at midnight and that was awkward enough - bloody cut backs! |  |

Edmonton Close/Road area in Kesgrave it does seem really dark around there this year, I've not noticed any lights are out, or turning off early, not that you can really see them in the dark when theyre not on, but the ones they've got across Kesgrave just all feel like theyre on half power or theyve switched them for low energy bulbs, it feels much darker than before.
It's dangerous too as there's a small pothole I hit on my bike on one of those roads because I couldn't see it till the last second to avoid it and oncoming traffic is tending to use full beam headlights which makes it harder, as good as my lights are (before the rabble moan about cyclists without lights) I'd have to switch to off road mtb style lights chucking out thousands of lumens of light to light up a road |  | | |
