I think we're all agreed that he has been excellent for us so far, and looks to be our brightest prospect for a long time.

Second half last night was the first time for me that he looked like a young lad though - I think the second half passed him by a little bit and we allowed Fleetwood, through a combination of their aggression and actually playing a bit, to dictate the game. If we'd been able to have an Evans or a Ball in there in the second half, then I'm certain we'd have won the game.

Don't get me wrong, there was lots wrong with that second half performance, and plenty of worse performances than Humphreys, but us allowing Fleetwood to dictate the tempo was a massive problem. Also, none of that changes my view that Humphreys is the real deal, it was just a reminder that he is still a kid.

There was one incident towards half time that epitomised much of our attacking performance last night. Humphreys, high up the pitch, made a wonderful tackle in central midfield, stabbing the ball forward to Ladapo, whose poor control immediately loses the ball, only for Humphreys to be the one chasing down and harrying Nsiala near the byline, trying to force something.

We need a forward that has the basics as a minimum. Ball control and hold up play, awareness, concentration, quickness of mind and feet, sufficient pace to worry defenders, a decent finisher, good in the air, anticipation, movement and composure to get on the end of and finish even half chances, rather than just gilt-edged ones.

Fleetwood cleverly overloaded the midfield second half, and we had no answer than to retreat. We needed an additional man in there, but not at the expense of Humphreys, rather to help him and Morsy. But that alone would not have helped. We needed to get up the field and hold onto the ball. All that is difficult to do, when you no longer have fresh legs, or the fresh legs don't mak a big difference.

Enough. Could have just said I disagree with the simplistic idea that a replacement for Humphreys alone would have won us that game.

Different sightlines from around the ground interest me on how people see the game. Our midfield two were clearly struggling after 75 minutes. I would have wanted an extra body in the midfield not to replace anyone already there. We could clearly have then gone much more narrow. That would have stopped the shot. That's my take on it.

Yep, I got harassed for saying KVY as a worse case CM replacement due to availabilities... but tbh based on that bench last night.. I'd have popped him in the middle to at least give the other 2 a helping hand.

I admit I’m in the minority but I thought Morsy went missing in the second half, and consistently struggled to do even the basics right. I thought Humphreys was the better of the two.

Fleetwood came out obviously instructed to get in our faces more which they did and then proceeded to pretty much dominate the second half.

I thought they were a very decent side and outplayed us at our own game second half although us being poor most probably contributed to that also.

We needed an extra body in CM 2nd half... I think we just got a bit over run in the centre of the park. Looked like Cam and Morsy having to do the work of 3 players in there at times..
The likes of Chaplin and Jackson, as 10's having to drop deeper and scrap it out, is not ideal. Same goes for Edwards, imo. Harness probably the better of our 10's to do some dirty work.
We are just undermanned in that central position atm .
Felt for Humphreys and Morsy.. The body can only give so much. Both ran themselves into the ground last night. As did Chaplin, imo..
Hindsight, could have pushed Wollfy into DM alongside Cam and Morsy to try and choke things up. And bought on Keogh or Fridge at CB... Jackson looked like a man playing way out of position at left sided number 10, as well.... The subs didn't really work for me.. But I guess we are trying to make the best of a bad hand atm..
