Covid positive.. 16:41 - Dec 5 with 5869 views | FrimleyBlue | Anyone else seem to go covid positive only days after a flu jab. This is the 5th Time ive had covid. Every time with horrible symptoms. I'm fully vaxed up. But the last 2 flu jabs have swiftly been followed with being covid positive. [Post edited 5 Dec 2022 16:41]

Covid positive.. on 17:05 - Dec 5 by Pippin1970 | I'll probably get slated but don't have the jabs. I know 3 people who I work with there immune systems shot being fully vaccinated. I was all for it from the start but with research completely changed my mind. I've been lucky only had it once. Even got pacemaker to keep my hear going. Work in health industry as well. |
When you say you 'work in the health industry' you mean 'work in the warehouse for Superdrug' don't you? And did you actually 'research' or did you watch a nutter on youtube? [Post edited 5 Dec 2022 19:58]

Covid positive.. on 17:13 - Dec 5 by StokieBlue | Which research is that? Let's see it. Because published studies citing millions of vaccinations clearly show the vaccinations are safe. We are at something like 12,000,000,0000 vaccinations globally now. If you're going to try and undermine the vaccines post proper evidence or don't post at all. I'm totally sick of people "just asking questions" or "having done the research" trying to undermine the only reason covid hasn't killed millions more people. SB |

Covid positive.. on 19:34 - Dec 5 with 1591 views | BanksterDebtSlave | Personally I am more concerned about catching flu than covid now so have had the flu vaccine but not the latest covid booster. It seems that covid is now a more mild disease and more upper respiratory rather than lower. We'll see. "I could be wrong, I could be right."

BB I've had 4 covid jabs. I wasn't saying flu jabs protect from covid. Not sure what the hot take is? I was asking a genuine question.

Then you were bloody lucky to have caught it this year rather than two years ago. It was killing lads like you pretty unpleasantly two years ago.

You asked the question, you had your answer. If you don't want people to give you stupid and obvious answers, don't ask stupid questions with obvious answers. [Post edited 5 Dec 2022 19:46]

Covid positive.. on 19:42 - Dec 5 with 1550 views | Nthsuffolkblue | It is coincidence. To prove otherwise would need a full analysis of how many got it without the flu jab and how many got it with. Now, if you had stated that you have had 5 flu jabs and exactly 2 days later on each occasion you tested positive for Covid, that would be suspicious. I was due a booster jab and caught Covid again. This time the symptoms were much worse than the previous two times I had it. This is not coincidence. The fact I was due the booster means my immunity was at its lowest.

Even a mild dose of covid will still predispose you to a higher risk of clots though. Covid can still kill you, just not as directly as before. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/10/25/people-who-caught-mild-covid-had-increased-risk-

If you are alluding to transmission then the difference between being vaccinated and/or having covid and the liklihood of transmission seems marginal. Ask these lucky lab rats..... https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-02328-0 "Although vaccination and previous infection help to reduce Omicron’s infectiousness, neither was enough to halt the number of new infections among prisoners. Four times out of five, the people who spread on the virus to others had been vaccinated or previously infected. Prisoners were isolated after they tested positive, but close contacts had usually been exposed for around two days before the COVID-positive individual was isolated, says Lo. Unvaccinated people had a 36% chance of transmitting the virus to close contacts but prisoners who were vaccinated and had had a previous infection still had a 20% risk of spreading the infection."

A one in 5 chance of compared to a shade over 1 in 3 is quite a difference, odds wise.

Is 20% not significantly lower than 36%? What makes you state the difference is marginal?

Marginal enough for me I guess, and that is in a prison setting so transmission liklihood must be less likely in the community (by the way I would still isolate if testing positive) Regarding clotting, it doesn't help my urgency to vaccinate having seen 2 elderly clients have strokes within a week of having boosters (I accept that this is not scientific.) I don't know how "new" this is as can't see a date but anyway..... https://www.bmj.com/company/newsroom/new-study-updates-evidence-on-rare-blood-cl

Have you considered not pulling this tediously disenguous 'just asking for interest' nonsense on EVERYTHING you feel like getting involved with if you don't want people to get increasingly tetchy and dismissive of you?As I've said to Chico, being a contrarian isn't the same as being clever. You're not a stupid bloke Banksy, I don't get why you've suddenly decided to start arguing stupid sh1t for the sake of Just Asking Questions. [Post edited 5 Dec 2022 20:16]
