Good Hotel Locations for O2 London 17:17 - Dec 12 with 1498 views | OsborneOneNil | Alright chaps. For those of you with good London knowledge can you recommend a decent spot to grab a hotel when seeing something at the O2 please. My train goes into Waterloo so wondering if there's a good spot nearer there? Hotels around the O2 are either very expensive or 30 mins on the tube anyway so presuming a location elsewhere is just as good. TIA lads

Canary Wharf is 17mins from Paddington now, and a similar journey from Abbey Wood. From there it's just a two-minute ride across to North Greenwich for the O2. Hopefully this means that a number of less obvious locations will now have opened up as options for you.

Canary Wharf is 2 mins to the O2? Had no idea, thought it was still a case of going around the long way. Cheers for that, really helpful.

Hotels in London are eye wateringly expensive these days but Premier Inns remain good value. There are three around Waterloo including one in the old County Hall and one next door to Southwark Underground Station all accessible to Jubilee Line to O2. (There is also one at Canary Wharf).

Canary Wharf may be 2 mins from O2 but for this you would need a helicopter landing pad - even if with a baby h Trivago pretty much always direct you to the best deal but Premier Inn and Travelodge sometimes need direct website searches. https://www.trivago.co.uk/

problem is getting to it, post a gig/event at the O2 at night, you can expect to spend 30mins just getting towards North Greenwich tube station, as the cable car closes quite early even at weekends considering most things arent going to finish and be letting people out till near 11pm, and there arent as many boats, and the buses dont really help either, and so everyone heads to the tube and then they start limiting access so the platforms dont overcrowd. I stayed at Canning town premier inn last time I went, could literally see the O2 from the hotel and vice versa. a decent location Id stay there again, but it took nearly 45mins to get back to it after the gig and its 1 tube stop, the only benefit was absolutely no-one was heading that way, they all go via Canary Wharf instead not towards Stratford. The one time I stayed south of the river nearer Greenwich was at the Deptford Premier inn which is walkable, but about a 30min trek. so based on that really you could stay anywhere in London, just avoid the obvious tourist zones, like a Premier Inn at Hammersmith will often be significantly more than the price of a Premier inn at Ravenscourt and its just a 10min extra walk, or a tube ride away

Good Hotel Locations for O2 London on 10:03 - Dec 13 with 1085 views | Meadowlark | The hotels around Excel can sometimes be less expensive than others if there's not much going on there, and as people have said, it's not far to walk to the cable car thingy that goes straight to O2.

Someone said the cable car closes quite early though. Or is that just on the weekend?
