There's only so much you can do with energy drinks and protein shakes. Putting the number of injuries or the 'quick' recoveries down to this deal is likely completely wrong. We're probably using basically the same products but the provider gives us a small marketing boost.

I don’t think it’s just protein shakes and energy drinks that they’re offering, although I’m sure they’re used for the nutrition elements of it, but it’s more about using a particular training method for muscle conditioning and recovery.

Mark Ashton said, at the Shareholders meeting this week, that he has been very surprised at how quickly Evo, Sony & Harness have recovered from their injuries. Could be coincidence, could be good luck, could be good management. Whatever, it is good news!

Fair enough, I somehow missed this story:

Harness is back pretty much when KMc expected once he'd had the surgery, may be a week earlier, but he said the new year. Ten weeks - and other reports of February - were pre-op and I assume were erring on the side of caution depending on how the surgery went. Suspect there has been a bit of erring on the side of caution with timescales generally. McKenna: Good Week On the Injury Front 1st Dec 2022 14:38Town boss Kieran McKenna says Town have had a good week on the injury front with Sone Aluko back in training and Marcus Harness back in the gym following his knee surgery and the Blues hopeful that he will be back around the new year, but the Blues manager kept his cards closer to his chest regarding some of the club’s shorter-term absentees. 4

In previous years our physio department has always struggled. The TB12 process is not just about diet, it is a complete holistic approach to physical recovery both in season and off season. It develops methods to ensure players are not only able to remain injury free for longer but also expedite recovery times with focussed treatment..

I'm sure the TB12 method adds something but several of the names I listed are new additions and the whole set up for conditioning players and supporting them has been enhanced (including bringing in the TB12 folk). I do think ascribing it all to that is a bit overblown.

You're Tom Brady, and I claim my £10! Seriously though, I am not sure our injury situation, including recovery, is any better than the last few seasons, when we seem to have struggled more than most teams. Indeed, in recent weeks, we have been down to the bare-bone in defence, midfield and attack. And we have three players out for virtually the whole season. Indeed, the only advantage we seem to have at the moment is that we have to money to do something about it in the January transfer window. [Post edited 24 Dec 2022 18:15]
