At the start of the month, I think it's fair to say that we were all a bit nervous given the injuries situation in the squad and we really didn't know what points were achievable. As it turns out, we managed 8 points from the 5 games, which doesn't sound great and we did lose ground to both Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday in the process, but only by a point or 2. I believe our tally still put us at joint 3rd in the "points achieved in December" list in the league, so by no means a disaster, especially given the injuries.

A few shrewd signings in January and it's still ours to lose.

EDIT* my joint 3rd claim appears to have been a tad optimistic and may in fact be better described, as 5th (I prefer the sound of joint 3rd)

Poll: Is it wrong to take more pleasure from seeing Germany lose, than England win

The points tally is ok but not great if you want automatic promotion. I’m a little disappointed because I think we have a real chance to impose ourselves on this division, but we are just not doing it. Too many points thrown away this season, Sheffield W and Charlton to name just two.

Lots of games to go - the opportunity is still there for us.

Totally agree where's this run others put together, Racking up to many draws now it hurt Sunderland a few years back hardly lost any drew to many, lost top two spot and I'm sure didn't go up, watch this space, possessions great if you score, we fail to get the ball in the box enough ATM,

We have drawn 7 matches from 24 (Plymouth 5, Sheff Wed 7), 2 in our last 6 (Ply 2, SW 3), 4 in our last 10 (Ply 4, SW 5). But don't let facts get in the way of your narrative, will you?

Barnsley in the final, Norwood winner.

Norwood early goal, red-carded for overzealous wrestling celebration in the Town end.

draws like tonight are ok, IF we beat Lincoln.

But somtimes you can take a loss - like wycombe if you then follow up with a win as you;ve still ended up with more points... we need to ensure we don't continue the theme of drawing more games than putting on a winning run.

IF we want to finish the year promoted we need to get that 5/6 game winning run going.

We will still lose games here and there as will others . While we are still I. The top 4 with half the season to go it is all up for grabs.

So was merely saying, but we've drawn 40% of our last ten games, do that in the next 22 games, there's a good chance we will be gracing the playoffs, all be it a big improvement on the last 3 seasons,

Exactly why the likes of Barnsley concerns me. We ve allowed those below to catch up.

It's fine if we suddenly wake up and go on a winning run. But at present it feels like the wheels are falling off.

That's not being overly negative... it's just I don't feel like we go Into games where as a fan I'm confident we will get the 3 points.

If we draw 40% of the last 22 matches ... and win 60% of them, we would have 97 points. That won't put us in the play-offs. Even if we lost 2 of them (as per our 10-game form) we would have 91 points.

I get your determination to look at the pessimistic take but it is a pessimistic view.

You don't think we will lose another game for the rest of the season?

I'd take your optimistic point, but I would be shocked and very surprised if we don't lose another league game this season,
