The real reason for all the negativity and question marks about our promotion chances is simply because negativity is all we've generally had for the past 20 years.

People are just trying to protect themselves a bit from potential eventual disappointment. They genuinely can't allow themselves to feel positive just in case.

As Kurt Cobain said, 'I miss the comfort in being sad'.

It's a form of Stockholm Syndrome if you will.

Agree.

I said a few weeks back it's all just a confidence and trust thing.

I got excited when top with lambert....
I got excited when Cook got rid of the bomb squad and brought together a great squad....

So far it's going well.. but its hard to trust what happens next.

As said before, credit to anyone who can simply go week by week and be relaxed and calm about things. It doesn't come naturally to everyone.

Agreed; pretty sure it is the case for me. Every setback feels like a prelude to something worse, as that’s what happened under Mick in the latter part of 14/15, Hurst, Lambert and Cook. It’s almost a childish requirement as well - why can’t things just be simple for us for once? Why do we have to have two other teams in great form too?
