Harness does something brilliant then does something I would be annoyed at my U14 team doing. Great footballing team but decision making in final 3rd shocking.

Spot on. We have the pace of a retirement home on counter attacks.

That is what happens when you play a defensive team, just watch City vs Everton NYE. The issue is the movement and creativity once it gets in and around the box. Staying patient in the middle is key to breaking a team down

You must be on a wind up. Stroking it around in the middle of the pitch 60 yards from goal isn't how you break pub teams down. Attacking with pace and moving it quickly gives you half a chance. Morsy Evans keeps it too laboured so many times, two banks of 5 are sitting in almost immediately. Since the Charlton game it's woken up the entire league of we really aren't as special as we initially thought we were. (We're 7th in the table from that game - present).

Where is the pace in our squad? Genuinely. Burns? Double marked all the time. Jackson? No control at pace at all. The reason we don't counter quickly is because we don't have enough pace throughout the squad to get sufficient players forward, so the ball HAS to be held up to prevent possession breaking down.

Exactly, I’m not sure what people expect when there are 10 men behind the ball.

It's a travesty Edwards doesn't get 5 starts in a row. With confidence I think there's some player in there and one of only a few with pace.

It's also worth noting the majority of our attacking throw ins end up back with our centre backs as Mathie rightly pointed out. "Get it to a forwards feet immediately and work off him". This group are passing it for passing sake.

Are we the only club in the last 8 odd years who don't have a long thrower. Most sides esp in league 1 seem to have them. Had we had one since we lost knudsen?

Do teams not get 10 men behind the ball when playing against Sheffield Weds or Plymouth? It doesn’t seem to bother them too much.

Well he didn't look to bad in the harness role when KM said he was developing a partnership with Davis. We then for some reason didn't see Edwards again in that position after that.

What you say is correct, but pace doesn't just mean running pace. There are lots of times when we don't cross when an opportunity arises with players in the box, but instead pass it back and eventually cross by which time the element of surprise has gone.

If your in a position to cross, the element of surprise has already gone. If a defender is surprised by a cross, they shouldn’t be a professional footballer.

Perhaps "element of surprise" was the wrong phrase, but surely an early cross in a dangerous position is better than a cross two or three seconds later from a position which is no more dangerous, because it allows defenders to regroup? [Post edited 3 Jan 2023 9:33]

Ipswich have scored more goals than Plymouth and Wednesday.
