Who drops out of our last league matchday squad 11:14 - Jan 10 with 2873 views | GlasgowBlue | To accommodate our three new signings? For me Keogh makes way for Edmundson and Leigh drops out for Davis. We need KVY as cover for both Davis and Janoi. So that leaves 3 from Aluko, Humphreys, Jackson and Edwards. IMO Humphreys stays, so no Lungo on the bench. Jackson deserves to stay in the squad and we need Sonne's ability to retain the ball. Especially if we are clinging onto a narrow lead in the final quarter of the game. Edwards is the easy option for one space but I'm struggling to see how we bring in both Hirst and Broadhead for this Saturday.

Who drops out of our last league matchday squad on 13:16 - Jan 10 with 382 views | Asa | I would not be surprised if we end up with Walton Donacien Woolfenden Burgess Burns Morsy Evans Davis Chaplin Hurst Broadhead Which effectively leaves a backup in every position (which I imagine McKenna will take his 7 subs from depending on tactical need) Hladky Vincent-Young Keogh Edmundson Jackson Humphries Luongo Leigh Aluko Ladapo Harness Any of the latter eleven could force their way into the side and be replaced on the bench by one of those in the former. Leaves the likes of Edwards and Ahadme struggling to make the 18 I'd imagine, given KVY can play the Burns role, Jackson could be used elsewhere as McKenna seems to like him. Ball and Camara unlikely to be up to speed if back and John-Jules possibly coming back to compete for that second team as it were. Means that every week we are likely to see a few from the likes of the ability of Edmundson, Leigh, Humphreys, Luongo, Harness or Aluko not even in the 18. Makes me wonder where we really need to strengthen and whether, if I am Whittaker, I really fancy competing with all that lot especially 13 goal Chaplin, when I could be first choice somewhere else and play every minute. If we are going for anyone else then I would like to see someone that can push Burns directly rather than the makeshift options like Jackson. I love Wes but he's not been at promotion winning levels since last season when plenty of others have. Only other real weakness then is Keogh, who looked decent when he signed but has progressively looked more and more like he's not necessarily past his best but quite a drop off in quality from backups we have in other areas of the pitch.

Who drops out of our last league matchday squad on 12:38 - Jan 10 by marvellous | I think Jackson starts instead of Burns. When we played Plymouth at their place Jackson was causing Mumba all sorts of problems down that right side and we then looked a lot less dangerous/Mumba looked more dangerous when he came off. Walton JD - Woolf - Burgess Jackson - Morsy - Evans - Davis Chaplain - Harness Ladapo Hladky, KVY, Humphreys, Aluko, Broadhead, Burns, Hirst |
For all SJ's good work in that game, there were a couple of times he was caught ball watching and completely lost his man. It was fortunate Plymouth didn't capitalise during the 1st half.

Who drops out of our last league matchday squad on 13:12 - Jan 10 by textbackup | Davis was straight in when we signed him, with no training time. You purely pick on quality |
Quality and utility. Plus McKenna obviously reckoned Davis was ready. That might not be true for Hirst. FWIW, I think Broadhead will start on Saturday, with Hirst coming off the bench for the final 30 mins. But then I'm not a football manager, haven't seen them train and have no idea of McKenna's thoughts!
