Remember that. Crazy to think that it was another 15/16 years before sports like F1 ruled out tobacco company sponsorship. We’d long known the risks by then. But then we’re all fine with alcohol still, so somewhat hypocritical.

I used to smoke but it was cheaper to buy Bugattis so I gave it up.

It is amazing what can be ignored when profits are at risk. Asbestos is a good example. The risks of it were first recognised in 1898, asbestosis was recognised as a disease caused by asbestos exposure in the 1920s, but despite the evidence of the suffering and misery it caused mounting year on year, it was 1985 its import and use was banned, and then not all types.

Tobacconists selling tobacco of different flavours are closing due to changing habits and replaced by Vaping shops selling vapes of different flavours. What a strange world.
