Wonder where he wants to put the away fans? Presumably in Churchmans somewhere but don’t know how you’d segregate effectively. (Although weren’t west ham in there for playoff game back in the day?)

The whisper I've previously heard is a sliver of the Sir Alf Stand, both tiers to the Cobbold side. But as MA says, no decisions made as yet.

I would have thought it’d make more sense to give them sections 1 and 4 of the SARS, so the sections next to the east of England stand, then give them a separate entrance that takes them out beside the travel lodge and down past the crown court. Could have an away fans bar en route on the old staples area.

When we rebuild the Cobbold Stand fill in the Cobbold/SAR corner with seating, and put them in that corner. A bit like the away ends at Derby and Man Utd

I reckon that’s exactly what will happen , which is why they’re doing nothing about it now ( waiting to see what division we are in)

When they rebuild the Cobbold they will be able to go up and back over Portman road. They wont need to fill the corner in they will just join the 2 upper levels of the SAR and the new Cobbold together.

That then impacts on entry to Beatties after the game....

Beatties and the SBR suite will be gone within a year or two. The space will be used for away team corporate boxes/dinning and an away fans fan zone. The club will build a new stand to replace the Cobbold and move those facilities to the side of the ground.

Other than the fact I sit in it, I don’t like the idea of Churchmans lower as I don’t like giving away teams the opportunity to attack directly towards their own fans. Prefer the idea of upper. Stick them out of the way.

I’d give them each a helium balloon and a tether so they can all float above the SAR stand for the match. Great view, good access to the station, what’s not to like? Increases PR capacity for home supporters by a couple of thousand too.

They haven’t just spent thousands of pounds to open up the corner to fill it back in

Plus it’s for ingress and egress to the bowl for all sorts of equipment
