I have seen a few on here suggesting we should try to get him, (Although I doubt the feasibility of that) but that is the third time i have watched him and he looks very average and lacking pace. What am I missing?

He’s a very good CB, handled Hirst brilliantly and has been great for them this season. You won’t find many CB’s in any league that are going to keep up with Burns.

T bf, if he wasnt already on a yellow, he'd have probably fouled Burns higher up the pitch...At one point, I actually thought Burns just slowed himself, perhaps looking for the foul, which, by then, with Cashin last man and Wes baring down on goal, could of ended up a red card..
I wouldn't criticise Cashin for not staying with Burns in a foot race. There isn't a CB in the division that could..But Burns slowing up slightly, made it look like Cashin was up to speed with him, imo.

Probably need to re-word my post, getting misinterpreted a lot. I was responding to the OP, suggesting that it was a bit harsh to criticise Cashin and saying he’s slow for not keeping up with Burns, when there’s hardly a CB in any league in the Country that could keep up with him

I don't think I was being harsh. I have seen him three times and on each occasion has looked average at best. That's the reason I asked what I am missing. Perhaps I have seen 3 his only average/poor performances but at only 6' as well, I am still not sharing the love.

Fair enough, I have no great passion for him, I’ve only seen him play against us tbf, he was very good at PR and I think he was pretty decent yesterday, but majorly hampered (thankfully) by that early yellow card, which could easily have seen red in some games, probably saved by the fact it occurred so early.

Just had a look to see what Rams fans think of him. It largely sums up my thoughts TBH. https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/41135-cashin/

I really liked him at FPR he was pinging diagnol balls like Glenn Hoddle. Just not sure if he's tall enough to be top level ?

Woolfy reads the game absolutely beautifully these days, which effectively gives him an extra half a yard of starting position over most other centre-halves in this division. Enables him to outclass and pocket virtually every forward I've seen him against this year. Top end Championship quality at least.

Yep. The criticism he gets from a few on here is ridiculous. He's been excellent this season, both defensively and in using his ability on the ball to contribute to our patterns of play. He's a quality player and we're lucky to have him.

He's been on a poor run of form recently, but he's comfortably one of the best defenders in the league, very physically imposing, especially at such a young age. He'll be sold to a top Championship side in the summer.

If Everton go down, I think he'd be a decent pickup for them. Probably wouldn't be first choice straight away but he'd thrive in a Dyche system and would make a refreshing change from them spunking money on high wages for ageing players.

Think they must of had a bit of a sit down and all got their heads together, since Oxford away.. Thought there was a run of a few games around that time, when no one covered themselves in glory, Woolfy included. .We did let in a few soft goals, at the time....
Also, the added strength in MF with Luongo coming in, has added a bit more calmness and defensive protection to the side, has helped the defence no end..Woolfy looks much calmer and composed. And I think that brings the best out of him. His turn of pace, for a CB, is an added bonus. When he's on it, I love the way he reads the game and just steps in quickly and effortlessly to rob the ball back.. I definitely think there's more to come from him, especially under the current regime. Same can be said for a few others..

I reckon if Derby don't go up, a few Championship clubs will be in for him, wonder if Warne would want Ladapo...

I think Pigott could do well there playing in a front two for a Warne team, with their direct style football and a more mobile strike partner alongside him. We'd obviously let him go for free as well, which would fit the terms of their embargo.
