Got it all wrong again didn't he, just goes to show what can happen when you focus too much on the opposition and not your own team. They changed shape and asked players to play different roles and it ended up being neither a block, or a press, the amount of space we had on the pitch was ridiculous and allowed us to play exactly how we like to play, they never looked comfortable, played right into our hands, thank you very much Mr Ferguson.
Then he has the audacity to moan at his players not putting in a shift, lol and of course refused to offer any praise at all for our great style of play, what an absolute muppet. |  |

They had a bit of a spell when they switched shape but by that point they had little to lose by committing players forward and going for it but even then they only had a couple of chances and we soon got back to having them at arm's length.
Truth of it was we just played and performed better than them, because we are better than them. Had they started how they finished I don't think things would have turned out much differently. |  |

I am not sure I agree. I listened to him being interviewed by the local radio after the game. They switched to a back three, which they have played before, as they did not have a recognised right back, DF said he decided to go with a three rather than have a makeshift full back try and keep (paraphrasing) one of the best attacking left sided players in the league quiet.
Incidentally, KM made a similar tactical change - bringing on Donacien for Clarke - to counter the increased attacking intent down the Pboro left hand side within four minutes of Posh changing their shape.
In the radio interview he was very complimentary of our team and performance albeit made reference to our superior resources. I think his point was that he believes his players are capable of giving us a better game than they did. Had one of their half chances gone in, then maybe they would have done. Small margins. | | | |
