"Jonathan Grey, a current US intelligence official at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (Nasic), confirmed the existence of “exotic materials” to the Debrief, adding: “We are not alone.”"
Surprised more isn't being made of this - seems to come from credible people.
Gulp.
I wonder if they've come to observe what happens when a population wipes itself out with AI, climate catastrophe or straight up war?

What is the difference between a submarine and a spaceship?
If you think about it they have a lot in common. Further to that if you can move quickly underwater then depending on the tech there is no reason you couldn't move quickly above the water and might want to see what is up there and who is messing around with the ocean you live in with microplastics and such like.
As I said, all just a thought experiment but an interesting one maybe.

Well the obvious answer is submarines can't fly, they're designed for going through water. So you'd think a water based creature (a very deep water based creature) would have craft suitable for that environment.
But given the cr@p we put in the oceans it wouldn't be surprising for them to come and have a look at what's going on.

If you follow the logic of your first paragraph then if you didn't know better it would lead you to the conclusion that as a land-based creature humans wouldn't have submarines as they don't live in that environment.
A bit more of a thought experiment then - imagine you had the tech of anti-gravity - doesn't a submarine immediately also become a spaceship given it's airtight?

Good point with the first bit.
Seems unlikely though. Submarines and ships have sonar, why have they not detected intelligent creatures flying craft in/out of the water? At least with extra terrestrials we have the excuse that they're a long way away.

Obviously the source has to be taken into consideration here though and I agree, it seems unlikely. What might be plausible is that if any aliens were here then under the water is a great place to hide and they would easily have the technology if they could make it here in the first place.
just love the contrast how on TWTD you can have a thread triggered by some totally random dude on Twitters one tweet and its suddenly def info Mckennas joining Leicester as their new manager, and this weeks 10pager about who to replace him with.
vs a guy who worked in the pentagon with an impecable military background and senior military people who have vouched for him personally since he has come forward, who prepared the national security daily briefing and delivered it to the President of the USA, who has sworn under oath and given 11hrs of testimony to congress that actually the US government/military has acquired through various means, non human intelligences crafts and bits of craft that theyve attempted to reverse engineer, yes and he said plural intelligences, and who will go to jail if congress believe he has misled them at all and its all nah its made up innit the universe is too big... :)
I dont think people quite appreciate the kind of credentials of this guy, or the scope of what he is saying yet

Yeah he’s definitely going to sell a “reveal all” book.
I have lots of reservations around these topics and try to remain sceptical, but this pod is very interesting and he comes across well (bar the migraine!). Worth a watch if you like this sort of stuff!
It seems possible, then, that Gerry Anderson's Stingray series was somewhat of a prediction. As Wiki has it, "The series begins with the discovery that the ocean floor is home to many advanced civilisations."

I've watched a lot of this sort of stuff, and of course have heard about Bob Lazar, but not seen this one with Joe Rogan. It's pretty compelling. If he's making it all up then he should be an Oscar-level actor.

he's been pretty consistent on it for best part of nearly 40 years now, the problem is, its difficult to take him as a completely credible witness given there are some big holes in his story and even the easy claims about his education/employment have never been backed up by any evidence, and then some of it gets to the realms of science fiction.
but yes when I read what David Grusch is saying, I immediately thought ok this is Bob Lazar type stuff but without the question marks on his background.
that doesnt mean either are then absolutely telling the truth, or their version of the truth, it just means Grusch is a credible source, whilst Lazar and the stuff he said tended to be shunned/ignored by the media etc because he wasnt and still isnt that credible.

Have you watched that interview with Rogan? What about it makes you think Lazar's "not that credible"? I don't know what you mean by his education/employment but he, and his film maker, address some issues around that.
If he's making it up he's an extraordinary actor (and he, his family, and several friends, have gone through a lot of sh!t for nothing).
