Mabuhay is an extremely friendly and very good Filipino restaurant. Be wary of the tourist trap places around Centrale station in particularly Almendra which is literally a front for criminals. That whole area outside of the station is pretty horrible so don’t hang around there. [Post edited 19 Jun 2023 21:49]

The station is truly enormous so wouldn’t surprise me if each face of it has its own culture. I was in the area around the southern face last year which I found a bit iffy but it was late at night to be fair. | | | |

If you were to find yourself near the cathedral in the city centre at lunchtime there is a brilliant little back street take-away place that sell small deep fried 'Calzone'... Absolutely brilliant and a bit of an institution in Milan evidenced by the queue you will find along the street at lunchtime.

If you have a day spare- get the train towards Como, about an hour to Varenna/Bellagio etc. | | | |
