I have been struck by the difference between the photographs on lead articles from the BBC website and Al-Jazeera yesterday. BBC had Prigozhin looking glum, Al-Jazeera he was smiling (the Qataris have switched to the glum one this morning.) At the same time couldn't help notice the high level of McLuhanism exhibited by both purveyors and consumers of media. So this mornings item from Al-Jazeera (back to the smiling photograph) made me smile:

'Speculation abounds on social media, but experts warn against drawing conclusions on the fate of the Wagner Group.'

More explicitly:

'“All bets are off,” Keir Giles, a senior consulting fellow of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House, told Al Jazeera on Sunday.'
