£260m For Mbappe with 1 year left on his contract?? 12:20 - Jul 24 with 8936 viewsLeoMuff

Surely he will turn it down, but the Saudis are going crazy with the amount of cash behind thrown around.

Maybe we can get £5m for Morsy

The only Muff in Town.

This isn’t a def info, it’s a fact, happened about 10 years ago and sounds unbelievable, but is 100% true. He said it cost about a grand for the training, maybe the “gym bloke” part funded? He acted as a recruitment agency, so was taking a commission of his salary. You don’t have to be ex-military, as long as you’ve got relevant qualifications and are with the right firm, you’re in, though they do often prefer ex military, cos they already have the relevant training.

You're a Saudi whatnot hiring someone to protect your family. Do you take Roid Rage Wayne from PureGym or the guy who's spilt blood in Helmand and Baghdad etc and can fire a gun with the same casual familiarity that your boy opens a can of Monster?

The courses advertise you don't need military experience because you are paying for it. When those people don't get jobs, it's no longer the training provider's problem.

Sounds unbelievable... but is highly likely

The amount of Brits with engineering and construction expertise who are heading out there or working via international consultants via multiple visits is really significant.. bit of a 'brain drain'

Not a surprise really when this government can't even finish HS2.. which woudn't even be a mega project in Saudi, let alone Giga

But at least we have our weather which in the years to come may be our most valuable asset!!

My brother worked in Saudi teaching English on crazy money and free digs etc. I was asked to go for a year by my company (who supplied comms equipment to the military) but I didn’t fancy it at all, one illegal night on the sauce there and I’d be likely to get a life sentence, lol.

As you say, there’s loads of professions hopping there for a year or two, equivalent money of doing 10 years in the UK.

I hear you, but as you probably already know, there’s a hell of a lot of business conducted in gyms and the one I speak of is exactly the sort of place you’d expect to find work like this and other nefarious goings on, if one were so inclined, the owner used to inject the roids into customers in the back room (that’s first hand knowledge) lol and no, it’s not a euphemism.

I think they will struggle to host the World Cup in 2030. I had understood that no Asian Football Confederation member was allowed to host in that year because Qatar hosted in 2022. One would think it would be a shoot out between the European bid and the South American bid - given that those are the only two bids still on the table it's hard to see how other bids could catch up with the necessary politicking. But then, I guess money talks...

It makes you wonder if a European Super League isn’t part of this spending-spree strategy. Acclimate folks to unprecedented amounts of money to the game, and then, much like LIV golf, make an offer UEFA can’t refuse.

It’s more than that, it’s that fee - plus £13m a week wage and with an agreement he can leave on a free after a year to sign for Real Madrid

Effectively €1 billion to loan him for a season
