Ipswich 12 Greatest Strikers on 09:38 - Sep 9 by woodbridge_blue

Ted Phillips
Tom Garneys

Mick Hill, John O'Rourke.
Colin Viljoen was often our top scorer too, though hardly a striker.

I'm sure even Danny Haynes wouldn't agree that he's the fourth best striker in Ipswich history....

Frank Marshall

The writer seems to have selected a few choice years (avoiding the last couple) and based the list on that (ignoring our history). It'd be a bit like just picking a few choice years from Norwich' history (2008-2016 for example) and basing the best ever Norwich Strikers 12 on that. You'd likely have Luciano Becchio, Johan Elmander, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel and David Mooney in that list. No disrespect to the players on our list, but all of them would agree that a lot of players that should be on that list aren't there. The years are highly selective. When I now type in Ipswich' greatest ever strikers...this list now shows as first click. Some neutrals could actually believe this, not realising we do have a proud history.
