I don't think they released a video for that season, so that might be hard to come by.

That’s been asked for before. Sadly, nobody could find it .

That's up there with requests for the wanted footage of Dozzells debut goal v Coventry in 1984.

You never give up hope these things exist somewhere on some old VHS and end up on Youtube. I'm always finding footage you don't expect or haven't seen before. Baltachas debut goal was thought lost for ages, and recently found Trevor Whymarks return to PR for Grimsby in 1983.

Yes I've looked for this too. Was there, can only remember we scored first, against the run of play, Jason Dozzell laced the ball into the centre of the goal, at the away end, early in the first half. Russell Osman was the Southampton manager, and Alan Shearer was playing for them.

Edit: also Tim Flowers was in goal for them

I've seen it on YouTube before but whether or not it's still there, is anyone's guess. It may even have been linked here at some point. I think it was a very short segment as part of a round up either on MOTD or the local news.

I was there that day. We were eventually given the whole Archers End and some of the seats as more and more Town fans piled in from the surrounding pubs. Absolute scenes when Dozzell scored the opener and one or two fights breaking out sporadically as the Town lot weren't shy celebrating in the home bits.

Think it was Jason’s brother and co. up in the seats. Good day out that. Would love to see the goals, if only to see the oddly shaped terrace pen again.

I was at that game. I remember there being bad weather and the local game I was supposed to be working at got called off.
So I jumped on a train, headed to Southampton, got a ticket.
Remember Dozzell scoring early on and leaping on the fence to celebrate.
Pretty sure Shearer scored.
