It’s been a whole year since Argyle last won a 3pm Saturday kick-off away from home - a 4-1 win away at McDons on 15th Oct 2022.

I’m old enough to remember when Plymouth fans would frequent this board telling us how good their team is.

I am expecting a tough test again, unlike a chunk of this league, their management and players know exactly what we're about. They won the league because they were better over the whole season and had great form, we made a couple of mistakes along the way.

In the style of the less favoured child saying 'look at me' on the swings in a playground.

I hope they stay up comfortably. They've done well with their budget and Schumacher seems like a decent bloke as well as a good manager. All clubs have their idiots who shout the loudest on social media and forums!

They seem a likeable team - good to watch and positive football. I kind of like their ‘million miles from anywhere, us against the world’ underdog mentality.

Certainly favourable to our other noisy rivals last season who thought they’d won the league in January. All the ‘Ipswich have bottled it’ comments are now priceless.

Without getting too stuck into old arguments, I completely disagree with your opinion that they were 'better' over the whole season. They were better at accumulating points and by extension deserved to win the league. Without limiting the scope of the adjective in the manner above, they clearly didn't play at a higher standard or with more quality than us. We were better in all other desirable departments and 'best' is not synonymous with 'victorious'.

They won the 2022 part of the season.

We absolutely blitzed it in 2023. Goal difference of plus 66 says it all.

The January transfer window came a bit too late for our new signings to get fit, settled and used to what was expected of them to overhaul Plymouth last season.

Regardless, for them to get over 100 points was a great achievement.
