Not knocking Wolfie, and Millwall are not pressing us anywhere near like West Brom were.

But so far Tuanzebe has been imperious, sharp passing, getting stuck in, some pinged long passes and some nice close touches and spins.

Thought he did well but under very little pressure or threat from Millwall. Looks a fantastic option to have and if we keep him fit he'll be a player. Doesn't use or carry the ball quite as well as Woolf but looks composed. Happy that we have him here, very good signing on a free.

But that's as much because there was no way past him for Millwall, he was very impressive, worked well with Hladcky and Clarke, wasnt panicking under pressure, thought he was excellent, distributed the ball well, ie gave it to the players who could go forward with it and so wasn't caught out of position

Still a work in progress I think, but very promising and good to have choices given we've got to rotate the squad in this block of games to ensure we don't burn them all out.

This thread is very interesting. Lots of people claiming Tuanzebe is now clearly ahead of Woolf in the pecking order off the back of one good game against a Millwall side who offered almost nothing going forward and a pretty average game against Rotherham where he was at least partly responsible for their opening goal. The mistake against Swansea aside, Woolf has been excellent this season and amongst our best players. Of course Tuanzebe has excellent pedigree and if he stays fit and reaches close to his potential then we've got a real player on our hands, but let's not go overboard off the back of one good game. I suspect last night was another case of McKenna having a plan to get him minutes rather than signalling s changing of the guard.

I think for the most part people are going out of their way to be respectful to Woolfie and any sensible person rates Woolfie as a quality CB.

I think it does no harm for Woolf to have competition as i think sometimes he needs it. It can m otvate him.

I think most people are recognizing just how much potential Tuanzebe has. Both will have to play to a high level to play. Brilliant for us.

I agree that competition for places is a good thing and hopefully all the CBs at the club will be pushing each other on to become better and better. I think your reading of the thread is a bit selective though, there's a good few posters being dismissive of Woolf and definitively stating Tuanzebe is better off the back of one performance where he wasn't really tested. I thought he was good last night for sure, but not especially better than Woolf has been in most of his appearances this season. I hope both continue to improve and it'd be great if one of them can adapt so they can play together as they'd have the makings of a very strong partnership.
