If its about personality, Earps certainly has that. And of course she is one of the best women goalies in the world. But she does also play internationally in one of the best teams in the world.
On sporting merit, surely Johnson-Thompson should win it. Does well over 7 events, wins gold after overcoming a serious injury? But that's just personal opinion.

I'd have voted for Frankie Dettori though, huge personality, incredible success in his sport over several decades - as he said in interview ""barring Stuart Broad, I think all the other contestants weren't even born when I started riding, so I've definitely felt like the old man of the group here!"
