28-2 attempts on 14:11 - Jan 27 by Powrigan | The fact that we have only made 1 of 28 chances count, shows how much we need to invest in a decent striker. |
Nope try again, you're stuck in the 70s. A majority of our goals are not scored by our striker

28-2 attempts on 15:05 - Jan 27 by Ryorry | I’ve revered Aluko for his composure in the past; couldn’t have been a worse time for him to lose it with that scuffed shot - think I was as disappointed as he was. |
I've never got the love for Aluko. While a tidy footballer, he's supposed to be an attacker & he's scored 3 times in 45 Town appearances and I can't recall too many assists either. Yes, half of those appearances have been from the bench. He hasn't played much football so no wonder he was way off the pace today, frequently losing possession & he also seems to have lost any pace that he had. Starting him today was a combination of misplaced faith by McKenna in a player to whom he surprisingly awarded a new contract & our lack of options up front, with Jackson presumably protecting an ankle injury.

Not sure his role as an attacker has ever been the main goal scorer. Has he made 45 starts for Town or are you including a lot of sub appearances and many of those to see a game out when we are ahead. He used to be a very good hold-up player to help us see matches out. This season he hasn't looked the same level as he was before. Has the skill to control the ball and beat a player but doesn't have the pace, legs or vision for a pass. Certainly playing the role he was asked to today is no longer his thing. Whether he is still the player to come on and help us kill a game off is questionable.

28-2 attempts on 14:25 - Jan 27 by Swansea_Blue | Terrible. And it’s got nothing to do with our striker (or lack of). It’s everyone around Broady who’s lacked any quality. I think Broad’s only managed to have a couple of those attempts (not that we don’t need a striker - we desperately do). |
Broadhead's finishing was woeful and he has been out of form for some time now! Doesn't deserve to be starting in the league, for me...

You won't be pleased that they are agreeing with what you have been telling us for months then?

No Aluko has never really been a No.9. Half of his 45 Town games have been from the bench, which does put his lack of goals in perspective. But yes, especially after getting promoted, I was amazed that McKenna saw fit to give him another contract. With his skill & experience, he was a useful option to come on & keep the ball against League 1 opposition. at 35 next month, his legs seem to have gone, we are now in a much better league & I can only think he's even getting on the bench as our resources are now so thin.
