... the topic in hand.

Led by donkeys is quite apt, really. From the outside looking in, it does feel like the Speaker has unnecessarily inserted himself into a party issue, and now distracted from one of the most important subjects of the moment.

I don’t see how it backfires on Starmer in that regard, ultimately he’s got through it with party intact and will be an irrelevance when it comes to it at election time. Removing the whip or sacking his own shadow cabinet would have been much worse

Can't see SNP allowing voters in Scotland to forget it.

I guess the SNP need to raise their game since they’ve got to compete with the Tories for the corrupt, incompetent, nationalist vote.

Social democracy, fairer taxation, support for the EU and support for immigration may have died in England but they are alive and kicking in Scotland, and I know who I would vote for if I lived there.

As it is, the latest Westminster poll has the SNP on 39% and Labour on 32% (taken before the £28 billion U-turn), and the more Labour mimics the Tories the more likely support for the SNP will increase, whatever its recent difficulties.

Forget what though? That they were allowed an amendment to an opposition day motion over a technicality of wording for a foreign war….its not going to exercise voters on the doorstep, maybe in Edinburgh and Glasgow where bigger Muslim populations
