Hmmm that’s weird 12:12 - Mar 12 with 1585 viewschicoazul

I could have sworn the TWTD brains trust were telling everyone the number was more like 200,000 the other day..? I guess the bbc are wrong.

More than a fifth of UK adults not looking for work https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68534537

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

It says:

Long-term illness has been cited as the main reason for about a third of the working-age inactive population not being in the labour force.

But other groups placed in the bracket - defined differently to unemployment - by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) include students, people who look after family or a home, people with disabilities, and early retired and discouraged workers

Come back with the number of people claiming unemployment benefits who are refusing to look for a job. Bit desperate including students, carers, the long term sick and retired people.

Truly impaired.

The problem with those figures is they start at age 16. Nobody is allowed to leave school at that age any more, must be in education or training at least to 18. Thus most will automatically not be economically active or looking for work.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Think this is less about bashing the unemployed than business concern at shortages among the workforce, now that we can no longer import them from abroad so easily.

Oh dear. Poor old Chickers strides in all bolshie, clutching his balls with one hand and a BBC webpage with the other... and falls flat on his face again. Will he ever learn? He's like the Frimmers of real life.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

If he's referring to Aviator's post then it was very much that people just don't want to work

This implies Frimmers wasn’t real life ergo you wasted all that time obsessing over him. You haven’t thought this through.

No, Frimmers = football nonsense, you = real life nonsense.
