No doubt this will open up the expected can of worms, but this bloke can certainly play too!

The more I listen to Marr, the more I realise what a very good guitarist he is.

Not sure why I am surprised this one hasn't been mentioned!

EDIT: Just reviewed the thread and seen he is mentioned with Layla.

For me, 'Alchemy' is straight up one of the best live albums ever.

Have a track from another one of the greatest live albums ever.

As a drummer, I don't usually go in for the fretboard w*nking but I've just seen this thread after walking in from Mr Big's first UK show this year. Wow.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Marr has great chops. It's a shame that a lot of his early career was brown-showered over by Morrissey caterwauling about daffodils and how much he hates brown people.

As stated you opened the expected can of worms...

It is possible to separate and appreciate a guitarist chops as you say...especially when their formative work was the foundations for their legendary status.

However this crass response was anticipated.
