I did my achilles a couple of years back and now this.
Lifting furniture up steps. Felt a kick in the back of the leg feeling and went down like the preverbial sack of spuds. Quite a bit of pain. Cant put any weight on it. Crawling about the house.
Really depressed about it as i know from the achilles it can be a long way back.
And thats probably my football trips to PR done for the season too.

Update!
For anyone vaguely interested.
My calf has made a huge recovery in 10 days. It was a partial tear. I can walk slowly with a limp.
So the plan for Monday is a train down and a slow walk, maybe with a walking stick round to the West stand. So if you see a middle aged man struggling spare a thought.
You can walk slowly with a limp what?
I have a minor calf strain actually at the moment and have a seat at the top of the North Stand tomorrow, so I shall make sure not to get too excited on the way in!

That's what's happened. Ive got a physio appointment without going through the doctor first. So that's good news. Morale has improved a bit.
one assumes you're from Norwich based on your username? If you want more physio advice and some regular sessions then contact Derek Lister at Wymondham Chiropractor. Nothing he doesn't know about sporting injuries. NHS physios (based on my wife's experience from breaking both legs last July) is distinctly unfavourable.

Thanks.
I saw an NHS physio and he has just assessed me and given me a rehab sheet. Years ago they used to do exercises with you and maybe ultrasound treatment etc.
I do sometimes go to that chiropractor in Wymondham for a bit of neck cracking so maybe I will give them a shout.
Havent I seen your user name on wotb. I didnt know you came on here.

I hope Mrs Y is now fully recovered. You are right about specialist Physios that know about sporting injuries. If I was the OP that’s exactly what I’d be doing.
Even you spend a little time with somebody you have confidence in and knows what they are about they can push you in ways you wouldn’t dare do yourself with an advice sheet.

I registered on WOTB but have never posted. It's a bizarre forum and not a patch on the Pink Un where I normally reside. Best of luck with your recovery. BTW I absolutely hate that 'neck cracking' at the physio. One does always wonder if the practice is truly safe!
