Glad now we didn't get Sam Gallagher 13:02 - May 5 with 3922 viewscbower

Moore did exactly what we needed of him and as that was a loan, if KM doesn’t see him as a permanent signing for us in the Premier League, we're not committed. Had Gallagher signed, we'd be committed to a player I personally don't see as good enough for the Premier League. Nice how things have worked out isn’t it!

Agreed.
He clearly isn't good enough to be a Premier League regular, and although he has improved with age, he will be 32 by the start of next season.

Well, let's see what striker(s) we do recruit in the summer. Hirst can be #1, Al-Hamadi could be #3 or sent out for a loan so Moore wouldn't be too expensive, 2 year deal & he'd be useful if we were relegated.

I was happy at the time and still am now. It felt like a stop gap while Hirst was out and Moore did it perfectly well. Scored some vital goals straight from his debut off the bench through to Cov. Defends our own box brilliantly, held the ball up, did exactly what you would’ve expected of him and no disrespect to Jackson but he was that step up proper number 9 we needed with Hirst out. He did look like his was playing through injuries at times, and the Wales game seemed to kill him, but on balance we couldn’t have asked for a lot more from a January addition. Gallagher would’ve been a great signing for the last 4 months I imagine, but questionable whether he’s a) any better than Hirst and b) premier league quality. Filling the gap with a loan was perfect and we’re shopping in a different market now we’ve gone up.

I just don’t think he holds the ball up well enough and that’s so important to our style of play

Moore is not at Hirst's level in terms of holding up the ball. McKenna may well be eying up other strikers, but they won't be cheap.

He’s done what we needed him to over the past few months, but felt a short term fix regardless of what league we would be in next season.

I think what’s got us here won’t get us there, we’ll be looking to find someone who makes Hirst droppable, that’s the aim and it’s probably not Moore. I doubt we’ll see him back next season but he’s done a good job for us and we should be grateful for that.

Tbh if he was on KMc' s list then he must have what is required, even go as far as to say that if he truly wanted Simms I wouldn't be surprised if he still seed something in him he can unleash or maybe flaws were identified during the chase which left him open for Coventry.

He knows the drill here, which is a massive advantage as we need to hit those first 5 games hard. We know what we would be getting in the Premier League, which for me, is a massive advantage.

Moore not good enough in premier league that's why Bournemouth let go his job is done a championship striker if we wish to compete we need better harsh but true.

Hmm..how many of our team are "Premiership players"?
Davis, Burgess, Morsy, Hutchinson?
OK - I felt the same when GB took us up & we finished 5th, but I think the wage gap is now so much bigger & even middling clubs are stuffed full of international players.

I seem to recall a lot stating many of our players weren't good enough for the Championship this time last season too! I am sure there will be several players who will be surprise a few people. Evolution not revolution has been one of the keys to our success and will continue to be too.
