I am terrified that somehow these pseudo-facist rat bastards manage to convince enough people to vote for them to keep their crooked arses in power.

It’s been an awful 14 years under various amalgamations of Conservative government.
Essential services are on their knees and the Conservative party have the blood of millions on their hands.

Completely and utterly morally bankrupt bastards.
Please don’t vote for them.

Well there's clearly a few "pseudo-facist rat bastards" hanging around on here, so it's wise to be cautious. The polls look like they're screwed, but polls can be misleading.

Any opposition should just systematically dismantle their record on pretty much anything. All the evidence and backing stats are out there to prove that they shouldn't be given any more time. Yet we're also at a point (thanks to the Tories) where evidence is ignored and people would rather listen to cheap soundbites, so Labour (or whoever; SNP in Scotland, Sinn Féin in N. Ireland) can't be complacent and have a lot of work to do. They're working against the majority of the media for a start.

No one has ever suggested that Labour will be perfect but they won’t be as corrupt, incompetent or wasteful as this present Tory mob. And I doubt whether Labour will invoke as much racist thought as well.

But the biggest plus side of a possible labour victory will see the Ministry of Common Sense abolished and less mention of ‘woke mess’. That can only be good.

The thorn in that argument is that a worrying amount of people seem to want more racist thought, not less. I hope all the other parties steer clear of these transparent populist tactics, otherwise it's going to be a miserable 6 weeks. It would be great to see a campaign fought on the basis of the hope for better lives and a better country for once (it's been a long time coming)

fallen off the no-twtd wagon?

Heya mate, indeed I have- took a four year sabbatical while I was quite clearly not in a very good space personally. Never intended to return as clearly I couldn’t handle the kind of engagement that comes with being a part of the forum.
Very happy to report that circumstances for me personally are much changed for a variety of reasons.
It was a fantastic flounce off though, wasn’t it?

Bad luck in the playoffs, would have loved a premier league East Anglian derby.

Didn't think I'd seen you around for a while. Welcome back and glad to hear things are on the up (what's the secret, lol?)
