McKenna would not have signed that contract if -

1) He wasn't confident that the club could stay up
2) If he got any sense that he would be binned off if it was a difficult season
3) If Schwartz hadn't convinced him that they want to get the club to the very top.

Enjoy the ride folks, it's not going to be easy, but the journey will be amazing.

I'm certainly very confident we're not going to do a Norwich and fail to compete and just take the parachute money.

We seriously mean business.

I go with that. They have promised to back him (within reason) in order to keep us up with a bit to spare.

For sure, Kmc has given a list of potential players that he sees as suitable to come into this team.
Being given assurances that money will be available was I’m sure high on his agenda when negotiating the contract.

Have an upvote - would have given you 2 upvotes (if that was possible) if you'd substituted the words "fail to compete" with "participate"...

That was clear to me the moment we got the investment.

It isn’t in the new investors interest to go about this half-arsed. They will want their money to be used to maximise the chances of the club doing well, and that means spending the max we can within the rules.

That’s one of the reasons why we currently have the best young manager in the UK on a genuinely massive salary, committed to us for a season at least.

I think we will spend more in the transfer market, and pay higher wages than many people have realised
